๐Ÿ€ Our Story

OGC Basketball (One Group of Champions) was founded by Coach Mac with one mission: to create a program where young athletes could grow, play, and thrive. The journey began when his son Nathan, along with teammate Ethan P., was playing for a team in Orange County but rarely saw the court. Rather than accept that, Coach Mac started his own team โ€” built on opportunity, unity, and development.

That first team included Nathan, Ethan P., and close friends Angelo, Jerico, and David, competing in NJB Fullerton as a BYT team. At the same time, Coach Mac also began coaching his younger son Grayson, who was just starting out in kindergarten.

๐Ÿ’ช Growth Thru competition

After a few successful seasons in NJB, the team picked up more talented players like Allen A. and Ethan L. As their skills sharpened, they began competing in tougher leagues and AAU tournaments. These experiences not only improved their game, but also gave them the exposure and confidence to take their talents to the next level.

Today, many of the original players have gone on to represent their high schools โ€” including Artesia, Gahr, La Quinta, Sunny Hills, and Rancho Alamitos โ€” but their bond remains strong. They continue to train and play together during the off-season, staying connected to their roots.

๐Ÿ“ˆ Where We Are Now

OGC has grown into a full basketball program with teams across multiple age groups:

  • 9U

  • 10U

  • 12U

  • 14U

  • 15U

What began as one team is now a full movement โ€” guided by a positive, family-first culture that emphasizes hard work, mentorship, and professionalism.

With the addition of passionate leaders like Coach Mike and Coach T, OGC is positioned for even greater success.

Our Program is continously growing, weโ€™re just getting started.

As we continue to grow, our mission stays the same:

To help young athletes stay out of trouble, succeed in school, and grow into disciplined leaders โ€” using basketball as the tool to do it.

We build athletes.
We build character.
We are OGC โ€” One Group of Champions.
